On May 23, 2025, the 21st Graduate Academic Achievement Conference of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Tianjin University of Science and Technology (TUST), was held on the second floor of the Gymnasium in the Central Campus of the Binhai Campus. Lu Fuping, President of TUST, Liu Yanmei, Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, along with over 200 participants including all master's and doctoral students, supervisors, and young doctoral teachers of the school, gathered together to conduct in-depth exchanges focusing on the achievements of graduate dissertations.

With the core goals of improving the quality of graduate training and promoting academic exchanges both within and outside the school, the Graduate Academic Achievement Conference has built a platform for graduates to showcase their scientific research achievements and practice academic expression skills. To date, it has been successfully held for 21 sessions. A total of more than 160 academic achievements were exhibited at this conference, covering cutting-edge fields such as mechanical design, intelligent manufacturing, materials engineering, and energy and power. These achievements vividly presented core contents including research backgrounds, experimental processes, and innovative conclusions through a combination of pictures and texts. Teachers and students at the conference stopped to discuss in the exhibition area, and graduates answered questions on-site raised by supervisors and experts, creating a lively academic atmosphere.
President Lu Fuping visited the site to guide the work. Focusing on discipline construction and the direction of scientific and technological innovation, he emphasized the important strategic significance of interdisciplinary integration in breaking through scientific research bottlenecks, fostering new disciplinary growth points, and enhancing comprehensive innovation capabilities. He stressed the need to further break down disciplinary barriers, build an interdisciplinary collaborative innovation mechanism, and provide stronger intellectual support and technical guarantees for the high-quality development of the university. Liu Yanmei, Director of the Science and Technology Bureau of Tianjin Economic and Technological Development Zone, fully affirmed the active role of the school in scientific and technological innovation and high-quality talent training. The person in charge of the School of Mechanical Engineering pointed out that the dissertation conference is a key link in testing the quality of graduate training. In the future, the school will align with the needs of Tianjin's high-quality equipment manufacturing industry, further optimize the disciplinary layout, improve the whole-process graduate training mechanism, and help integrate students' growth with industrial needs.
Guided by the "Pioneer Plan", the School of Mechanical Engineering hascontinuously deepened the reform of education and teaching, strengthened the process management of dissertations, improved the dissertation quality assurance system, and constantly enhanced the quality of talent training and the level of scientific and technological innovation. It strives to contribute wisdom and strength to the university's goal of building a high-level research-oriented university and Tianjin's strategy of "strengthening the city through manufacturing".
