Recently, Professor Li Haiyan, Associate Professor Zhu Yingli, and Associate Professor Hao Liang from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Tianjin University of Science and Technology visited the Liuzhou headquarters of SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW). They held in-depth communications on cooperation matters regarding industry-university-research collaboration, talent cultivation, and student employment.
Han Dehong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd., extended a warm welcome to the visit of Tianjin University of Science and Technology. He highly praised the university’s achievements in achievement transformation and talent cultivation, and expressed the expectation of carrying out cooperation with the university in more fields. The two parties also exchanged views on further strengthening university-enterprise cooperation and promoting in-depth integration of the education chain, talent chain, and industrial chain.
During the visit, the three teachers held discussions with researchers from SGMW’s Technology R&D Center on cutting-edge technologies in the current automotive industry, achievement transformation, and joint research projects. They focused on introducing the university’s research achievements in new materials, automotive active and passive safety, and crash mechanics simulation to the enterprise. This demonstrated the solid technical foundation for transforming these achievements into practical productivity, as well as new technical ideas and solutions, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
The three teachers also visited SGMW’s New Energy Laboratory, Crash Laboratory, and Lean Intelligent Factory:At the New Energy Laboratory, they gained a detailed understanding of the enterprise’s progress in new energy vehicle technology R&D, including innovative achievements in new materials, battery technology, and motor control. At the Crash Laboratory, in-depth exchanges with technical personnel not only gave them a more intuitive understanding of the latest development directions of automotive active and passive safety, but also enabled the enterprise’s technical personnel to gain a deep understanding of the university’s latest achievements in the field of automotive safety. At the Lean Intelligent Factory, the teachers observed advanced automotive manufacturing processes up close, discussed the application and optimization direction of intelligent manufacturing technology with on-site technical personnel, gained a deeper understanding of the intelligent transformation of the automotive industry, and obtained rich materials for integrating industry practice cases into future teaching.
In the future, the two parties will continue to make efforts in industry-university-research cooperation, talent cultivation, and student employment, and jointly contribute to the development of the automotive industry.
