From October 17 to 19, the 2025 National Academic Annual Conference on Packaging, Food Engineering and Agricultural Products Processing, along with the National Final of the "China Packaging Cup" 2025 National College Students' Innovation and Creativity Competition in Packaging and Food Engineering, was held in Xiamen, Fujian Province. The conference was co-hosted by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the Chinese Society of Agricultural Machinery. The National Final of the "China Packaging Cup" Competition, held concurrently, was hosted by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and co-organized by Tianjin University of Science and Technology. Experts, scholars, teachers and student representatives in the field of packaging and food engineering from across the country attended the conference. A total of 10 teachers and students from the School of Mechanical Engineering participated under the leadership of Professor Xu Qing, Deputy Director of the Packaging and Food Engineering Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and Associate Professor Zheng Zhaoqi, Deputy Secretary-General of the Agricultural and Sideline Products Processing Machinery Branch of the Chinese Society of Agricultural Machinery.
The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Researcher Zhou Haijun, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Packaging and Food Machinery Co., Ltd. Leaders from the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and the Chinese Society of Agricultural Machinery delivered speeches respectively. The keynote report session was chaired by Professor Liu Donghong from Zhejiang University. Academician Zhu Beiwei gave a keynote report titled "AI Reconstructs the Dietary Ecosystem – Technological Leap of Food Industry 4.0 Empowering Home Cooking Intelligent Entities". In the thematic sub-venues, Professor Song Jitian, Professor Xu Qing and Associate Professor Zheng Zhaoqi from our school participated in presiding over and organizing report sessions. Doctoral students Li Limei and Su Hang gave academic reports, introducing relevant research progress and achievements.
In the National Final of the "China Packaging Cup" 2025 National College Students' Innovation and Creativity Competition in Packaging and Food Engineering (co-organized by Tianjin University of Science and Technology), students from our university won multiple awards. In the postgraduate group, Wang Yongchang won the first prize, while Ma Xiangyu and Ma Jianbin won the third prize. In the undergraduate group, Shao Yunpeng won the second prize and Wang Pinqing won the third prize.
This annual conference fully demonstrated the latest progress and achievements of our university in the fields of machinery, packaging and food engineering, and also provided an important exchange platform for young scholars and postgraduates. Teachers and students of the School of Mechanical Engineering actively participated in all sessions of the conference, further strengthened exchanges with domestic and foreign academic circles, expanded the influence of the university and the school, and accumulated valuable experience for promoting the development of the school's disciplines and specialties.
