To give full play to the exemplary leading role of outstanding alumni and help graduate students clarify their career development directions, the School of Mechanical Engineering held an Excellent Graduate Alumni Exchange Meeting in Room 309, Building 10, West Campus of Binhai Campus on the afternoon of May 23. This event invited three alumni who had achieved outstanding performance in job hunting, public institution examination, and doctoral program application to share their experiences. Yin Yuanyuan, the graduate counselor, presided over the meeting, and graduate students of the school participated actively.
Fan Yunguang, a counselor from the School of Biological Engineering of our university, focused on the theme of public institution and civil servant examinations. He systematically sorted out the preparation schedule, adjustment of examination mentality, and strategies for diversified employment choices. He advised the students, "We should not only focus on our goals but also broaden our horizons and actively explore the possibilities of different career paths."

Zhang Shouwei, a doctoral student at Tianjin University, focused on the direction of academic further study. He elaborated on the doctoral application process, skills for selecting supervisors, and experience in writing high-level papers. He particularly emphasized that "academic accumulation requires consistent efforts to achieve breakthroughs, and scientific research topics should be based on the dual orientation of disciplinary frontiers and social needs."

Liu Jiajun, a mechanical engineer working at Huahai Qingke Co., Ltd., approached from an industrial perspective. Combining the current employment situation and corporate recruitment standards, he pointed out that "practical ability and innovative thinking are the core competitiveness in the workplace." He explained the workplace thinking model of "analyzing problems - breaking down problems - solving them systematically" through real cases and encouraged students to actively participate in school-enterprise cooperation projects to accumulate practical experience.

At the end of the event, Counselor Yin Yuanyuan made a summary from the perspective of professional quality cultivation and proposed a "trinity" ability improvement framework: strengthening communication and expression skills to demonstrate personal value; deepening expertise in professional fields to build core competitiveness; and enhancing writing skills to improve comprehensive competitiveness.
This exchange meeting, based on the personal growth paths of the three mechanical engineering graduates, brought students present practical experience sharing on scientific research and career planning. In the future, the school will continue to deepen the alumni contact mechanism, build a normalized career guidance system, and help students move forward steadily and far on their career development path.
